May 2000 Hello '98. I can't tell you what I'm doing because it is very very important stuff...top secret...okay I'm in the beginning of a MEU work-up. I'll be leaving to go on a WestPac this coming August. Fortunately, Jake Harriman, Bridgette Stamp, Tom Ogden and Aaron Rigby will be tagging along as well. By the way, Bridgette Stamp will soon be married to Coleman Ruiz (just thought I'd throw that out there). I got a little news from the other side of the world. I'll just let you have that and all the other little tidbits of information. From Arif Cirtlik: What's up? I always wanted to get in touch with you as to be aware of the things going on there and also let you guys know how I am doing over here; however, that just could not happen due to various reasons. But I received pretty much every single issue of Shipmate and heard the news related to our great Class. Relating to the latest news, please pass on my best wishes and congrats to Shawn upon his marriage. I am now onboard a Meko-class frigate, TCG YILDIRIM, as an electronics officer, which is a pretty demanding job for an Ensign; however, as you know, an Annapolis graduate likes the challenge. Everything has been great so far. I am still motivated and dedicated to reach my career goals. In the near, I am planning on applying to grad school. From Jody Smotherman: I got my wings in September at Whiting and moved out to North Island for the CH-46FRS enroute to follow in the phrog community. Meghan Forehand and Paula Langille will be going to Guam and Jeremy Vellon will be going to Norfolk. I am sure that there will be even more in the very near future. I am starting to see more and more '98ers floating around the HTs. I have seen John Cremins around, but he deployed to Bahrain last month. That's all I got for you guys and gals. Congrats to Jody Smotherman, he got married 18 March. Arif, it was great to hear from you. One last thing: I love you guys!
