December 2004
Greetings Classmates! From the sunny shores of North Carolina I'm proud to
bring you further word about the lives and times of members of our class.
We're a little short on submissions this month, but have exciting news
from Kathy McMorrow and Steve Formann:
The doting parents of Kathy Kfilani McMorrow announce that after a
whirlwind romance that began at the Navy Academy Prep School, Kathy, the
Pineapple Princess and Steve Fortmann of "4 Hours on the Bay" Herndon fame
entered holy matrimony last year, 2003. This year, 2004 they became proud
parents of 8 pounds of fighting force, baby Bruce Fortmarm. They named
their son after their USNA Toyota Four Runner "Bruce", the vehicle with
which Kathy took on the entire USMC Band and their Carryall and drove away
the winner. Bruce and the rest of the team are enjoying southern living in
their home in Virginia Beach, VA. Kathy left active service in August 2004
but as a member of the Individual Ready Reserve stands ready to serve
again if the call goes out for nursing mothers to defend the faith or
stand up for the rights of small nations. Steve and his SEALTeam return
from Baghdad in October after serving as personal bodyguard to the
IraqiVice President. Early next year Steve, Kathy, Bruce and America's Cat
and Dog, Cuba and Shady head for their new duty station in Stuttgart
Germany. Stopping only long enough to attend Lacy "The Cutting" Edge and
Matt Sladky wedding at the USNA in Novernber'04. Kathy, in her native
language, wishes all her classmates, "Me ke aloha pumehana."
Additionally, although I may have mentioned this earlier, I have a tidbit
included from Michael Davis:
Also, for a SHIPMATE update, I got married in April of this year to
Catherine Best (Davis now), and we live in Memphis,TN - if anyone gets an
assignment at the base at Millington, I would like to get in touch with
them.
I hope that you all are enjoying the holiday seasons and look forward to
great submissions noting the various escapades of our illustrious class.
By the way, if you're ever in the Wilmington area, give me a call,
Carissa, Caleb and I would love to have visitors!
